On Monday, October 5, starting at 6pm, the public is invited to join the Waterfront Alliance at the Chelsea shoreline for the ONE°15 Brooklyn Marina Parade of Boats.

This festive urban flotilla of dozens of vessels will honor the Waterfront Alliance’s 2015 Heroes of the Harbor: AECOM, James Corner Field Operations, and the Billion Oyster Project.

The ONE°15 Brooklyn Marina Parade of Boats will extend northward past Chelsea Piers, where the Heroes of the Harbor celebration will be taking place, to Pier 62, where a narrator will regale the public with information and stories about the vessels as they pass by. Pier 62 is accessible by crossing West Street at 22nd or 23rd streets.

As the sun sinks toward the New Jersey horizon, watch for magnificent sailing vessels including Lettie G. Howard and Pioneer from the South Street Seaport Museum; Ventura, Shearwater, Adirondack and America; the U.S. Coast Guard cutter Sailfish; a Sandy Hook Pilots vessel; a community-built Whitehall gig; a McAllister tugboat; one ferry from New York Waterway and another from New York Water Taxi; two fireboats—Three Forty Three and the historic John J. Harvey; sightseeing yachts, J-24s, kayaks, and more!

ONE°15 Brooklyn Marina, located just south of the Brooklyn Bridge at Pier 5 in Brooklyn Bridge Park, is currently under construction, with a grand opening scheduled for spring 2016. Designed to be the calmest marina basin in New York Harbor using cutting edge wave attenuation, the marina incorporates extensive sustainable design features and full amenities for berthing of 190 boats up to 250 feet in length.
